This was an animation I did with a drawing from my friend. It was my dream of what the Murray River would look like in my head!
Hi. I'm Cattleya Mai. My friends and I did an experiment to see and explore about salinity. We had to taste salt from the Murray river! Boy was it salty! I was so surprised how salty it was. To do the experiment follow this procedure. A Taste Of Salt Aim- to taste water of known salinity concentrations and compare them to known salinity levels of the sea and Murray River.
Hypothesis- I thought the sea water would taste the saltiest. Material
*
5 litres of water
*
5 1 litre containers
*
Measuring cone marked 1.2cm, 2.3cm, 3.4cm, 7.5cm and 11.7cm.
*
Plastic spoons
Procedure 1.Fill the measured cone with salt all the way to 1.2. 2.Pour salt into prepared 1 litre container. 3.Repeat steps 1. and 2. with the different measurements marked down. 4.Wait for the salt to dissolve into the water. 5.Use the 1 spoon for each container.
Conclusion- The Murray River was saltier than the sea water. My Feeling-I feel for the Murray River and try to help the river by supporting the president.
Radish Grow or Radish Stay
Aim-to see if radishes like salt or hate salt.
Hypothesis-I thought the radishes will grow with no salt and not grow with salt.
Material
*
2plastic see through cups
*
textas
*
radish seeds
*
cotton balls
Procedure 1.Use the textas to write ‘no salt’ and ‘salt’ on each cup. 2.Push the cotton balls firmly into each cup. 3.Pour the radish seeds into each cup.
4.Pour salt in the cup which says 'salt' on it. 5.Water them and place them in a sunny place. 6.Wait for the results.
Conclusion-The radishes found it hard to grow in salt but grew healthy in no salt.
What I learnt I learnt that radishes hate salt and the water was too salty for the plant to absorb the water to grow. Therefore not many plants that are planted and are not naturally there can’t survive in salt water. I also learnt that plants can live being in proper water and good care.
This was an experiment about salinity so follow this experiment to learn more about salinity.

I did this powerpoint with an etasc buddy named Ivy. Watch this powerpoint and watch what happens in the Murray River. :-)
This is news I made with special help from a best buddy!
I made a design for a sewage system. I think it is OK, do you?
